GeoArabia
is an international quarterly journal dedicated to the publication
of petroleum geoscience studies in the Middle East. GeoArabia’s
papers are each rigorously reviewed by at least two anonymous
referees before being considered for publication. Accepted
papers are edited and designed professionally by GeoArabia’s
staff.
The members of the Editorial Board are technical leaders who
represent oil and gas corporations, societies, geological
surveys, and universities. They are nominated by their organizations
in recognition for their outstanding contributions to the
Middle East geosciences and their support for the journal.
The journal also facilitates professional networking and technical
exchanges between the members of the board, authors, reviewers
and readers.
GeoArabia is sponsored by corporations through advertisement
pages. Additionally corporate sponsors receive many hardcopies
of the journal as well as access to the papers in Adobe Acrobat
portable document format (pdf) at the website www.gulfpetrolink.com.
The sponsors are free to use the papers and the contained
graphics in any manner whatsoever for internal purposes, including
electronic copying, intranet distribution, and the preparation
of inhouse graphics. Reproduction of GeoArabia’s graphics
by corporate sponsors for external purposes (such as conference
presentations or publications in other journals) requires
the mention of the original authors followed by “courtesy
of GeoArabia” in the figure caption.
GeoArabia is published and printed in Bahrain by Gulf PetroLink,
a company founded in 1993 to promote petroleum sciences and
technology exchange in the Middle East. Paper or electronic
reproduction of GeoArabia by non-sponsoring parties is allowed
only by written permission from Gulf PetroLink. GeoArabia
is registered with the Copyright Clearance Center and indexed
in the American Geological Institute’s GeoRef, University
of Tulsa’s Petroleum Abstracts and Elsevier’s
databases. GeoArabia is included (from Volume 10, Number 1,
2005) in the following Thomson Scientific products: Science
Citation Index-Expanded (SCIE) including the Web of Science,
ISI Alerting Service, and Current Contents/Physical, Chemical
and Earth Sciences (CC/PC&ES).
In addition to publishing GeoArabia, Gulf PetroLink also published
the “GEO’94 Proceedings” (1995, Ed. M.I.
Al-Husseini); “Stratigraphic Palynology of the Palaeozoic
of Saudi Arabia” (2000, Eds. S. Al-Hajri and B. Owens);
“Arabian Plate Sequence Stratigraphy” (2001, Sharland
et al.); “Carboniferous, Permian and Early Triassic
Arabian Stratigraphy” (2004, Ed. M.I. Al-Husseini);
the “Middle East Geological Map Series” MEGMaps
(L. Christian, 1998-2000); and “The Desert of Southeast
Arabia” (2005, K. Glennie). In late 2005 the “Stratigraphic
Lexicon of Iraq” (van Bellen et al., 1959) was reprinted
by agreement with CNRS Editions.
GeoArabia is supported by the website gulfpetrolink.com, which
is used extensively in preparing reviews, editing texts and
designing graphics during the pre-press phase. The website
contains the Guide to Authors (see also final pages of the
journal), Reviewers and Advertisers. The module “GeoArabia
Documents” contains many thousands of references and
abstracts that can be searched and used in preparing bibliographies
for papers.
